Sample by Beckie Ten Eyck
Inspired by In the Garden Project by Brittany Ketcham

Halloween is one of Beckie’s favorite holidays...we think she is counting the days until we can decorate the office and dress in costume! This sample reflects the colors and mood of All Hallows’ Eve. But this is such an artisan design, it can be worn year round. Based on Brittany Ketcham’s In the Garden, this 5 wrap bracelet is a challenging, intermediate project that uses multiple stitches. Whether you tuck it away and wear only in October or make it your favorite, year-round wrap...it is definitely special.

Instructions Map

Please watch the video before beginning your project. This pattern mapping applies to all color options and will make a bracelet approximately 33 inches. Always, always measure your wrist before you start and check as you go to insure the length you gauge will fit correctly. You may have to untie your project from the board more than once to check length. We would love to give you exact length for every situation, but we can only guesstimate. This bracelet will fit a wrist about 7 inches.

Video explains changing thread colors where you do the macramé transitions. Be sure to watch it! Brittany also goes over thread burning and gluing C-Lon.

1. Begin with stringing on your button to the halfway point of your leather. Start macramé of C-Lon below the button around both thicknesses of leather.

2. Follow instructions in video for Bollywood Pattern for 6 inches using Miyuki Size 8/0

3. Transition to Ladder Stitch by doing just macramé for a few stitches. Stay with the same color of C-Lon as you go into the Laddering.

4. Follow instructions in video for Laddering Pattern for 6 inches using Little Shadows beads.

 5. Transition to Bollywood again by doing just macramé for a few stitches. Add a new color of C-Lon as you go into the Bollywood. Watch video for detailed instruction on how to add and drop your C-Lon thread.

6. Bollywood Stitch for 6 inches using the same C-Lon color

7. Transition to Ladder Stitch by doing just macramé for a few stitches. Stay with the same color of C-Lon as you go into the Laddering.

8. Ladder Stitch for 6 inches.

9. Transition to Bollywood Stitch by doing just macramé for a few stitches. Add a new color of C-Lon as you go into the Bollywood. Watch video for detailed instruction on how to add and drop your C-Lon thread.

10. Bollywood Stitch for 6 inches.

11. Finish the Bollywood with a few stitches of macramé. Leave a bit of leather (just enough to fit your
button through) and macrame another small section. Finish up with an overhand knot. Try your bracelet on and decide where you want to hang your Jack O’Lantern Charm. Use pliers to open and close your jump ring securely.
